Wow...it's been a while since I've posted something here. I have lots to show, but also lots of pictures to take first....

I made a wedding album, using a pattern from Laura from Following the Papertrail.
In this post lots of pictures of my wedding mini. I used papers from Eline's huis; the paperblocs In the Meadow and Roses are red.

Vandaag heb ik een mini-album om te laten zien, met foto's van mijn trouwdag. Ik heb het gemaakt met behulp van een werkbeschrijving van Laura van Following the Papertrail.
In deze post een heleboel foto's van dit mini-album! Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van de papiertjes van Eline's huis uit de twee papierpakketjes in the Meadow en Roses are red.

High Tea Card / Decoration Challenge

Een paar dagen geleden postte Monique Helfrich een uitdaging op het Royal Lemon forum. Om geld op te halen voor A Sisters Hope verhuurt zij spullen voor een High Tea.
De bedoeling was om een uitnodiging of decoratie te scrappen, die eenvoudig nagemaakt kon worden, ook door niet-scrappers.

Toen ik dit las begon het gelijk al te borrelen...en dit is het geworden:

Werkbeschrijving:
Snij uit negen theezakjes een vierkantje van vier bij vier centimeter. Je kan kiezen voor drie verschillende, negen verschillende, misschien wel allemaal dezelfde....

Uit een stuk cardstock snij je een stuk van 14 cm bij 28 centimeter (kan dus ook al uit een A4!) en je vouwt deze dubbel. Plak de negen vierkantjes op dit stuk. De vouw komt aan de onderkant.

Op Internet zoek je naar een leuk plaatje van een theepot of theekopje of iets anders wat er bij past (cupcakes bijvoorbeeld!). Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van deze kleurplaat. Als je bij Google afbeeldingen op lijntekeningen klikt, krijg je allemaal kleurplaten te zien. Maak in Word het gevonden plaatje op maat. In mijn geval is de theepot ongeveer 7,5 cm bij 5,5 cm. Print het plaatje uit op stevig papier, kleur het in en knip het uit.

Plak aan de binnenkant van het vel cardstock langs de zijkanten dubbelzijdig plakband (Action), vanaf de vouw omhoog dus. Je krijgt zo een soort hoesje, dat aan de bovenkant open is. Voordat je het hoesje dichtplakt, leg je een lintje (Xenos) over de kaart en vouwt de uiteinden naar binnen in de kaart. Als je dan het hoesje dichtplakt, zit het lintje ook gelijk vast.

Plak je theepotje met foamblokjes (bijv. witte boekenmarkt) vast in het midden van de kaart.

Knip daarna uit wit stevig papier een klein vierkantje dat je dubbel vouwt. Hierop schrijf je High Tea. Leg hier het uiteinde van een stuk draadje (ik heb DMC borduurgaren gebruikt) tussen en plak het dan dicht.
Knip of snij ook een stuk van 10 bij 20 cm uit stevig wit papier en vouw ook deze dubbel. Hiertussen komt het andere uiteinde van het draadje en daarna plak je ook dit dicht.

Op het grote witte stuk kan je de informatie schrijven/typen of plakken over jouw high tea.

Met het witte labeltje kan dus deze uitnodiging uit het hoesje gehaald worden.

Sleepy Challenge

Yeah! I managed to join in on all eight challenges! Here is the final one: Sleepy! The challenge was to use the word Dream somewhere on your lay-out.

A subject was easily found, since last friday we got the keys to our first home together!

I used October Afternoon Farm Fresh papers, Tim Holtz tickets, Quickutz Fiesta alpha and some flowers from my stash. The little rub-on letters are by doodlebug.

Happy Challenge

Number seven was a layout sketch again, this time themed Happy! The challenge was to create a LO around the word Happy.

The picture I used is of my grandparents celebrating 45 years of marriage. That counts for a happy occasion, I think!

Doc Challenge

Here is number six of the challenges: Doc!

Doc's challenge was a Card challenge, where it had to be a Congratulations, Well done or Get Well Card. I had been wanting to do a one-color-card for a while and I figured this was my chance!

I imagine I could send it to a marrying couple to wish them a perfect day! I could congratulate them on the inside....hope that makes it count as a congratulations card :).

I used white cardstock, fiskars apron lace punch, some embossing folders and a leaf die from Sizzix. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch. The sentiment is a Whiff of Joy stamp.

Sneezy challenge

Challenge 5 of the Snowwhite series on capture these sketches was all about Sneezy!

The challenge was to create a winter themed LO. I have been scrapping quite a few of these layouts lately...so I decided to do something different. I took two old photos of myself and used them.

Bashful Challenge

I am still working on the seven dwarfs challenges and here is challenge number four: Bashful! This time the challenge was hidden journaling. Under the photo is a tag with my journaling for this picture.

I used Basic Grey and Making Memories paper, some cardstock, paint, embossing powder, Unity Stamp: Snowflake Serenade, some DMC and a Quickutz exclusives border die. The word 'remember' I bought in my LSS....and I don't have a clue what the brand is.

Dopey Challenge

Challenge number three was all about Dopey! This time there had to be something silly.....I used these pictures me and my friends took in Romania four years ago. We lived there for six months and we needed a photo to make christmas cards to send home. It was a fun fotoshoot, so that's why I used them!

At the Capture these sketches blog they are running a Snow White and the Seven dwarfs competition. This is my take on the Snow White challenge:

The picture isn't very well, because it had to be taken by night with a flash....paper is Basic Grey Indian Summer.

By the way, talking about Capture these sketches: with this layout I became a honorable mention of january. They loved my layout best for that sketch! What a great feeling!!

I realised I had never shown my album about our summer holiday 2009 on Crete. That's gonna be my next project to show: two layouts every other day. There will be 18 posts, so in a little over a month you will see the entire album. All the pages are made with Making Memories Great Escape papers, alpha's, flowers, ribbons, buttons, rubons etc. I also used some quickutz dies. I won't post ingrediënts on every layout, but feel fry to post a comment and ask about something!
I used sketches for almost all of the layouts, I will post them too.

Another snow-layout

With the cold temperatures over here in the Netherlands I considered another snowlayout appropriate.

This one is based on this sketch from Creative Scrappers. As you probably have noticed I love working with sketches and this one was no exception!

As you can see I enjoyed myself with 8 different Cuttlebu Embossing Folders. This is by the way a great idea to get rid of some white scraps!

Both the white and blue cardstock are by Bazzill.
The snowflakes are mini chipboards from Maya Road, which I inked white and then embossed it so they became shiny. Circles are made with spellbinders.

Frozen sea

Here are two entirely different lay-outs than what I have been showing you lately, theme-wise!
Four years ago I lived in Romania for six months. In the winter it gets really cold over there (think minus 20 degrees or more) and this particular winter it was so cold the Black Sea was frozen. Of course we had to see this, so we took the train for a short holiday!

The layout on the left was based on this sketch from Capture these sketches.

I used Bazzill cardstock (blue, white, red and kraft), the blue swirly paper I believe was Making Memories, Tim Holtz Edge Distresser, Faded Jeans Distress Ink, silver flakes from Ebay and a grey and brown stabilo pen.

The other layout was based on a Twisted sketch.

The twist was "envelope", so I put my journaling in a little envelop on the bottom left.

I used the same ingrediënts as the layout above, so it would make a nice spread. Hope you like them!

Pagemaps Sketch

I thought I'd give you a break from all the butterflies...by showing you this layout I made this weekend.

This sketch was posted on a forum where I come often (Royal Lemon). I also entered it into Ingeborg's Scrapbooking Competitions.

As you see I switched it upside down. Here is my take on it. I love how it turned out!

Butterfly album 1

First of all a happy new year to you all! One of my resolutions for the next year is to post on my blog more often...starting today! To make it a little easier for myself, I lined up a lot of posts that will appear in the next months. The coming weeks I will be showing you layouts of a butterfly album I made. All layouts are 8x8.

First the front:

As you can see pretty simple: just covered chipboard and bind it all rings. I used the largest size, although they are still too small...but well, who cares? Unfortunately I can't remember the manufacturer of the paper.

Buttercup bag

For my birthday I got a Janome Sew Mini from my parents....and below is one of the first projects I made with it:

It's a buttercupbag! The pattern I found on the net. It's from Rae. You can find it here:

Best of all: it's free! I made an enlarged version of the bag and changed a few things....but still really easy to make. I left out the pocket inside, but added ribbons for closure.

To decorate I added a flower. You can find the tutorial here:

Baby socks cupcakes

I needed a baby shower gift for a co-worker, so I decided to give it a go :).

Here are my results:

They were really easy to make! Socks, cakestand, cupcake holders and little flags were all bought at the Hema.

Sugar Nellie Duda Daze Bloghop

Yeah! It's finally here, the super blog hop from Sugar Nellie! I was one of the lucky sugar addicts to receive one of the new Diane Duda stamps to play with.
You're supposed to be coming from Rosaliens blog. If not, I advise you to start at the Sugar Nellie blog, so you won't miss out on any of the great cards and stamps!

The stamp I received is called Shaken, not kissed...and I think it's a real fun one! I made two cards with it, and this is number one!

The description for this card I found here at the Stamparctic blog. Check the post out, 'cause there are two other cute cards in the same tutorial. It was really easy to make! The papers I used are from We R Memory Keepers and are called Tiffanys. Really nice funky colored papers! I colored the image with coordinating Copic Colors. The border is done with the Fiskars Apron Lace punch. I notice myself using it all the time, love it!

The little crowns are Heidi Swapp chipboard, which I gave a purple color with an cats eye violet inkpad. Love how that turned out, tried it for the first time...but the color is really good and it was done in no time. The happy birthday stamp on the front I bought at an event, don't know the brand. Ribbon is from a local store here in the Netherlands (Xenos).

Onto card number two....Every princess ought to have a castle, so I went up on the internet...googled for a castle coloring page and found the one below!

After that all I had to do was resize it (just used microsoft word), print it out and colour it in. Again I used my copic markers. I double matted the image on Bazzill cardstock, stamped the Diane Duda stamp, colored that one too...and put the card together. The background is from Basic Grey, from the Sultry range. The ribbon was a leftover from my Christmas decoration.
I left the inside blank, so there would be lots of room to write a message.

Today I stumbled upon that blog again and read the most amazing news: Elizabeth Bell will start designing for this company too! I love the stamps she made for Whiff of Joy and Sugar Nellie and without a doubt these will be adorable again!

Felt creations

I have bought some of the cute kits of Atelier Sterre and when I started making them I couldn't stop, love them!

There should have been embroidery on them, but didn't really like that, so left them plain. They are really easy to make!

And finally a garden girl. This one was the most complicated, but I like how she turned out.

Next on my wishlist from them are the newest kits with beachhouses and the beachgirl!

Fabric album

A while ago I bought a camp kit from Royal Lemon. In it were fabrics, felt, cute journaling rounds, cardboard and white paper and binding rings.
This is what I made with it. The leaves are made with a sizzix die, cut from the felt with my cuttlebug. The decoration (flowers, cherries etc.) on the rounds is all bought by Brocante roosjes, a great webshop with the cutest embellishments for great prizes! Click on the name to take a look.

I have been on a roll the last couple of days and created lots of layouts. Didn't know where to start at first, so I worked from sketches and scraplifted some layouts I really love! Prepare for a lot of pictures in this post!

Paper is all Basic Grey Ambrosia, rubon is also Basic Grey. This LO was inspired by this one, made by Kelly Goree. Click on the name and check out the inspiring blog.

Next up is this cute little duck. Paper is again by Basic Grey, but this time from the Offbeat line. Ribbon and flowers from stash, little white heart is bought at Brocante Roosjes. Letters are a quickutz alpha.

This layout was lifted from this one. It is made by Leah Killian, who is an amazingly talented scrapbooker! Check out her blog by clicking on her name again.

Today, after I got home from work I opened my e-mail and found out I got a new comment on the post below, the sugarbowl christmas card. It said: congratulations on winning the challenge! I read it like three times....and then immediately clicked on to the sugarbowlblog, where I found out that I am the winner of the 30 pound voucher for Funky Kits! Yeah!!!!!!! Now I can order the stamps on my wishlist and it will cost me a lot less money! Yeah, you read it correctly...Christmas. The newest sugarbowl challenge is to make a christmas card. Unfortunately I don't own any sugar nellie christmas stamps (yet ;)), so I decided to use this wintery stamp: hug in a mug. This card turned out quite big, but I love it!
The trees are from a flourishes set and the little camp fire is from Magnolia.

I have been stamping a lot with my new Whiff of Joy stamps (including the stunning Elisabeth Bell Spring Kit). Click on the Whiff of Joy label to see all. When I saw his little girl I immediately thought of her as a little shepherd, dancing around with her sheep. So I took Molly and joined them together.

This time you had to make a card using just one sheet of designer paper. I picked this Basic Grey Offbeat paper with the cute little birds. I also inked Daisy up for the first one, love this stamp! I used some cardstock and my cuttlebug embossing folder.
The sentiment is Whiff of Joy.
I am really happy with how this card turned out.

WOJ Project of the month

I stumbled upon Katharina's blog and found this post about the project of the month. I made this box, using a tutorial from the Scor-pal website. I don't own a Scor-pal (yet :)), but these things are easy to make yourself!
This is a cute box for one of my loved ones, I am planning on filling it with chocolates. The cute mouse is from Whiff of Joy, the hearts are Magnolia. I paperglazed the hearts to make them shiny.

Paper is SEI, ricrac is Maya Road and the hearts stamp is from Magnolia. I cut everything out using my nestabilities. Love those!!

SugarBowl Challenge 2

I joined the challenge this time, where it is all about threes....
Three patterned paper, three kind of embellishments...and preferably three stamps.
I used three stamps, but had to use one twice...since I didn't have three matching Sugar Nellie stamps (yet ;)).
The patterned papers are the dresses of the cute girls, the brown border and the punched out hearts. The pink panels behind the stamps I made by inking up my cuttlebug embossing folder (inside) with worn lipstick distress ink, add in the paper, roll through the cuttlebug and this is the result. I believe I found this technique on papercraftplanet. I love it!!

I definitely was inspired yesterday, created 10 cards in a day.....
For most of them I used pagemap sketches. All images are colored with copics and some are paperpieced...

Magnolia stamps (girl and silent night), wassail paper & sultry paper (basic grey), bazzill cardstock, prima flower and a brad.

My minds eye be merry paper and diecut (tree and blue border), hanglar girl, cardstock and a brown pen...

Two posts in one day! Last saturday I went to a christmas workshop and made three things...the other things will follow later, because I still have to finish them (read: add photo's etc.).
This one I finished today and I am really happy with how it turned out! It's a decorated wooden star.

The little figures are from Dille & Kamille, a store here in Holland. I also used thickers, stickles, maya road chipboard and a christmas tree branch garland (don't know how to call it ;)) and some holly, buttons and of course paper. I don't know the brand though....

I leave early morning to go to university or work and return late afternoon...both times of the day its already dark. This year I didn't feel like putting up a tree...but did some other things.

As promised earlier here are some of the things I made....other things are still a work in a progress....and other things are still waiting for their picture to be taken...

A card with a Tancart set, this was my first try, so it isn't perfect, but I really like the technique! Now I have to find some way to make it without the spots...

The paper is urban prairie, the butterflies are punched out...and the leaves is a Magnolia stamp.

This is a spread out of a album about my grandparents, with childhood pictures from me and my brother with them. The first one is taken with a flash, so the pictures aren't really good.

And a close-up of the right side:

Paper is SEI Jolie Chocolat...and it's brown and pink, alpha rubons, prima flowers, doodlebug velvet brads and DMC for the swirls and text.
